For those who never used Foursquare, you just enter your location or “check-in” whenever you go out. You can earn points and badges as rewards. Check in enough times at one location and you can become Mayor, find certain places with tags to earn badges and also see who else is check in currently. Some businesses have now started to offer discounts for people who check in or special deals for those who become mayor.

Dropbox has been in beta for BlackBerry devices for awhile now and has now been released to the masses. Dropbox is an easy way to share files across different platforms like PC’s, phones and devices. Using Dropbox allows you to sync, share and secure your files and media. There are over two million people using Dropbox on their mobile devices.

Verizon Wireless has launched their Mobile Recovery service to all smartphone users, but only if you are signed up with Total Equipment Coverage (TEC) as part of your plan. Mobile Recovery is basically a smartphone safeguard that lets you find your phone if you lose it, locate your phone by sounding and alarm, or secure your phone by locking it or you can erase your contacts and lock the phone.

Images from the new BlackBerry Theme Studio have been leaked. Looking at the screenshots it appears to support both BlackBerry 6 and the BlackBerry Torch. With the BlackBerry Developers Conference coming up at the end of the month we could see a release coincide with the conference. The screenshots pretty much look like it has same functionality as there is in the current version of the Theme Studio with the addition of BlackBerry 6 and the BlackBerry Torch. I guess we really won’t know how much control designers will have until its released or leaks.

You can use Poynt to find businesses, retailers, restaurants, movies, gas prices and weather information around you on your BlackBerry. Poynt uses GPS or cell-site location to quickly deliver the information you need, whenever and wherever you need it. Poynt is available in Canada, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain. The latest version adds a few small feature additions, but this update better integrates with BlackBerry 6 and also adds support for the new BlackBerry Torch. Poynt has come a long way since it was first in beta back in 2008. The user interface design presents the information you want exactly the way it should be.
