possible storm3 BlackBerry Monaco aka Storm3 Headed to Production?

New information about the BlackBerry Monaco (aka Storm3?), according to a source of bbleaks the device is headed into production. Some of the reported specs for the Monaco are as follows:

  • 3.7 inch touchscreen
  • Trackpad
  • 512 Mb RAM
  • BlackBerry 6
  • 1 GHz processor (possibly)
  • No SurePress, more like the BlackBerry Torch

Now this device could end up being a slider, this is something I had speculated before when the picture above was first published. Remember there was a patent filed by RIM for a horizontal slider. Whether of not the Monaco will be a slider is still up for debate or until more specs are reviled.

Could RIM be working on another version of a BlackBerry slider? Information is sparse on this but it is rumored to be smaller than the BlackBerry Torch and would be cheaper than the BlackBerry Bold 9700. Could this be a BlackBerry Pearl slider with a full, SureType, or T9 keyboard? Time will tell if this rumor pans our or not.

What do you think of the concept of a smaller slider?
